About INCUMAR - Industrias y Cultivos Marinos

Bivalve Shellfish Purification

INCUMAR (Industrias y Cultivos Marinos) was founded in 1981 to purify and market bivalve shellfish from the Cantabrian Sea. After more than three decades in business, it has become one of northern Spain’s major shellfish-purification centers, serving more than 500 professional customers, including wholesalers, fishmongers, and restaurants.

Products

The company sells purified bivalve shellfish, including:

  • Grooved carpet shell (Ruditapes decussatus): valued for its firm meat and pronounced flavor, and aimed at upscale restaurants, premium markets, and export.
  • Pullet carpet shell (Venerupis pullastra): purified using a traditional Cantabrian method and supplied to fishmongers, wholesalers, and restaurants.
  • Mediterranean mussel (Mytilus galloprovincialis): a premium product for wholesalers, canneries, and restaurants.
  • Common periwinkle (Littorina littorea): a traditional product in demand in northern Spain, supplied to local markets, bars, cider houses, and fishmongers.
