A family-run Cambrils restaurant with a multigenerational fishing heritage, known for rice dishes, fideuà, and seafood prepared with a house-made fish stock.

About Restaurant del Mar

A fishing-family legacy on the Cambrils waterfront

Restaurant del Mar traces its cooking to a Cambrils fishing family. More than 50 years ago, Teresa and Tem opened a small beachside restaurant selling the fish brought in from the boats; the next generation has carried that tradition forward with recipes rooted in the town’s seafood culture.

Rice dishes built on a slow-cooked stock

Rice is the center of the menu, alongside fideuà, a noodle-and-seafood dish, as well as other seafood and stews. The restaurant says its fumet—the fish-and-shellfish stock behind dishes such as rice and suquet—is prepared in-house each morning and simmered for at least four hours. That method gives the kitchen a foundation for paella, black rice, casserole-style rice, and seasonal combinations of seafood and vegetables.

Traditional cooking with a view of the coast

Some of the menu’s choices are designed for sharing and require a minimum of two diners, so the restaurant works especially well for a meal planned around the table rather than a quick solo stop. Its location by the Cambrils promenade makes the sea part of the setting, while the family recipes keep the meal anchored in the local fishing tradition.
