Mescladís

A social and gastronomic mission

Mescladís is a Barcelona-based social enterprise that has been operating since 2005. It describes its mission as helping people migrate with dignity and organizes its work around four areas: food experiences through its restaurants, education through training, employment through job placement, and culture through awareness-raising activities.

Restaurants and spaces

The organization runs several restaurants and other spaces in Barcelona, including Mescladís Borrell, Mescladís del Pou, Mescladís Lliure Gràcia, Mescladís Lliure Montjuïc, Mescladís Bostik, and Mescladís Catering. It also rents out event spaces. Sustainability is central to its food program and its approach to environmental, economic, and social change.

Training and job placement

Mescladís runs training and social inclusion programs for the hospitality industry. They include:

• Cuinant Oportunitats: A program that helps people facing hardship find work in the hospitality industry.
• Dual Training: Participants join the organization's own teams, receive ongoing training, and get follow-up support as they enter the job market.
• Professional Training: Hands-on cooking classes at its restaurants, tailored to the needs of the food industry.

Fundació Privada Ciutadania Multicultural – Mescladís has earned ISO 9001:2015 certification for its training management.

Cultural programs

Through its cultural program, the organization encourages dialogue on migration, diversity, human rights, sustainability, and food sovereignty through art, literature, journalism, academic research, and educational programs. Convite hosts sociocultural initiatives, while Altell brings together music, poetry, and food. Mescladís also organizes intercultural cooking workshops such as Gustos del Mon.
