Casa Marcial, fine dining near Arriondas in Asturias

Casa Marcial is a fine-dining restaurant in La Salgar, near Arriondas in the Asturian municipality of Parres. Its cooking brings tradition and creativity together in a rural setting, and the restaurant holds three Michelin stars.

Sandra, Esther, Chus and Nacho Manzano run the restaurant. It opened in 1993 in the house where the siblings were born, the same building in which their parents prepared food to order and served neighbours at the bar. Today’s cooking draws on recipes inherited from their grandmothers and on the respect for nature and local producers taught by their parents.

Menú Nordeste

Menú Nordeste takes the north-easterly wind as its narrative thread. According to the restaurant, that wind is used to dry fish, roe and curadillos, which are then transformed into broths, sauces and other preparations. The menu travels from sea to mountain while presenting the landscape around the family home.

The group’s other projects

The Manzano family has developed several projects alongside Casa Marcial:

• Gloria: two informal urban restaurants in Oviedo and Gijón.
• Narbasu: a hotel and restaurant in Piloña.
• NM: a Michelin-starred dining space in central Oviedo.

The group states that it also operates other culinary projects beyond those listed.

Reservations and services

Casa Marcial serves lunch from Wednesday to Sunday and also opens for dinner on Saturday. Reservations can be made online or by phone. The restaurant sells gift experiences, while the wider group offers accommodation at Narbasu, catering and event services, and culinary consultancy.
