How the company developed

Its first factory opened in Velilla de San Antonio in 1989, initially making and distributing prepared and marinated meats. The business moved to Arganda del Rey in 1994 and began making cooked and smoked products in 1995. In 2002, it doubled its production space to more than 1,500 square meters. It began selling sliced products in skin and modified-atmosphere packs in 2006. The company presented its range at the 2007 SAL food fair at IFEMA Madrid and updated its branding; it has taken part in Salón Gourmets since 2008.

Products and specialization

The range covers marinated, smoked, roasted, cooked, and sliced meat products. Embutidos Velilla says its products are made without allergens, particularly gluten and lactose, and uses its own seals for this claim. It also describes its products as suitable for people with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity, free of genetically modified ingredients, and protected from cross-contamination.

Factory and controls

Its Arganda del Rey factory has 1,500 square meters of production space, refrigeration, ovens, and processing equipment intended to maintain the cold chain from receipt to dispatch. The company says an approved laboratory accredited by ENAC performs regular microbiological tests on raw materials, finished goods, surfaces, and water. A traceability system tracks ingredient quality, origin, and destination.

Distribution

The company uses its own vehicles to supply large retailers, municipal markets, butcher shops, and smaller stores.
