About OPI Observatorio Provincial de Igualdad en las Relaciones Laborales de Albacete
A provincial initiative for workplace equality
The Provincial Observatory for Equality in Workplace Relations (OPI Albacete) is a pioneering project in Spain promoted by social partners CCOO, UGT, and FEDA, in collaboration with the Albacete Provincial Council, Albacete City Council, and the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha. It works across Albacete province, studying and promoting effective equality between women and men at work.
Activities and services
OPI carries out several lines of work for both businesses and workers:
- Diagnostic questionnaires: Annual tools for studying workplace equality policies at companies in the province. Separate versions are available for company management and employees.
- Recognition for companies and teams: An annual award for companies and teams committed to workplace equality that have taken part in the diagnostic questionnaires.
- Workplace Equality Promotion distinction: Public recognition and financial support for companies that negotiate an equality plan and adopt effective measures with a direct impact on employees.
- Participatory phase: An advisory process for companies and work teams on equality issues.
- Annual reports: OPI has published results reports since 2020. Its sixth report, presented in 2025, examines the implementation of equality policies in the province and includes LGBTQ+ measures for the first time.
Areas of focus
The observatory promotes measures to address vertical and occupational segregation; encourage shared responsibility and pay transparency; make work schedules more reasonable; promote full-time, permanent employment for women; prevent sexual harassment and sex-based harassment; and encourage non-sexist communication and advertising in businesses.
Results and recognition

It has also given honorable mentions to Crisnova Vidrio, Asociación Desarrollo Autismo Albacete, Subus Grupo Vectalia Albacete, Tecon Soluciones Informáticas, and Parcisa.
