Wisconsin’s Talent Incentive Program (TIP) Grant prioritizes resident students facing significant financial need and educational disadvantage. Unlike aid applied for directly from the state, new recipients generally need nomination by their college or a Wisconsin Educational Opportunity Program (WEOP). The campus office should explain nomination, documentation, and funds available.
HEAB targets Wisconsin residents with financial need and educational barriers who attend an approved institution at least half time. For a first award, campus nomination is decisive; continuing grants require renewed review of progress, need, and eligibility. No federal form guarantees an award: FAFSA begins the assessment, but the school recommends candidates to the state.
HEAB lists roughly $600–$1,800 for a first-year recipient; renewals may range from $250 to $1,800 under annual calculations. The 2026–27 continuing TIP maximum is $1,800 and minimum $250. It may renew for up to ten semesters or equivalent if funding and need continue. The grant is packaged by the college.
File FAFSA early, contact financial aid, and ask whether you can be nominated for TIP or referred to WEOP. Document financial and educational circumstances, and review your award package before accepting loans. Current recipients should confirm renewal dates and SAP each year; call HEAB at 608-267-2213 with program questions, while the college handles individual review.
Nomination does not guarantee the maximum or an award: funding and campus determination remain essential. Read the program profile and the administering office; ask your campus financial-aid office to review your individual file.
