St. Petersburg remodeling contractors for kitchens, bathrooms and whole-home projects

Compare licensed St. Petersburg remodelers by project scope, showroom access, design-build process and Pinellas permit steps.

Finding a St. Petersburg remodeling contractor is partly a design decision and partly a property-planning decision. A kitchen in a concrete condominium, a 1920s bungalow and a house in a flood-sensitive area can require different drawings, approvals and construction details. Three licensed firms show distinct ways to organize the work: Revolution Contractors describes design-build with full-time carpenters and open-book project reporting; Oldja Enterprises Kitchen & Bath starts with a large showroom for cabinets, stone and counters and publishes a specific condition for full kitchen construction; Grand Kitchen and Bath centers its offer on design, material selection and coordinated remodeling from concept to walkthrough.

Before collecting estimates, write down the same scope for each firm. Name the rooms, whether walls or plumbing will move, cabinet and countertop ranges, tile and waterproofing needs, finish allowances, demolition, disposal and whether the household will remain in the home. A low total is hard to compare with a higher one if the proposals include different materials or leave electrical, plumbing or permit costs out. Ask who orders products, who checks measurements, which trades are employees or subcontractors, and how a change is priced and approved.

Check St. Petersburg permits and project constraints

The property address determines the permitting path. The City of St. Petersburg’s building and permitting page connects owners to applications, plan review, inspections and project information. Pinellas County explains when a state-certified contractor must register locally and offers a contractor licensing and permit portal. A historic district, condominium association, flood-zone review or elevation requirement can add steps that are not visible in a kitchen photograph. Ask the contractor to name every approval needed for your address and identify who will submit the documents.

Choose by the renovation type

Revolution’s published work includes historic homes, whole-house projects, condos and flood-zone construction, with a local crew and weekly cost reporting. Oldja is strongest as a cabinetry-and-countertop destination; its website says full construction, plumbing and electrical work related to a kitchen is available when the customer buys both cabinets and countertops there. Grand presents a wider design-led route for several connected rooms or an entire home, including material-selection appointments and project coordination. These are different propositions, not interchangeable bids. Match the company to the project, then compare what each written proposal actually includes.

Ask for proof of the exact license on the contract and permit, current insurance, a schedule, payment milestones, allowances and exclusions. For a condo, ask about elevator reservations, delivery windows, debris routes and association approvals; for an older house, ask how concealed wiring, framing or moisture damage would affect price and timing. A clear estimate should identify who obtains permits and closes inspections, not simply promise a finished room.

Bottom line

Match the company to the work, then confirm permits, flood or historic review, condominium rules, cost allowances and the written schedule.
