Houston’s youth soccer map stretches across a wide metro area. The first decision is whether a child needs a community season, a competitive team or a short camp. Houston Dynamo FC plays in Major League Soccer, the country’s top professional men’s league; that professional presence is visible in youth programming, but it does not turn every camp into an Academy route. These options range from a municipal competitive program with financial aid to multilevel club soccer and short-format instruction.
H-Town Soccer Academy, run with Houston Parks and Recreation, offers age-banded teams and the free Soccer for Success after-school feeder. Its Fall 2026 fees are $250 for U7–U8, $275 for U9–U10, $300 for U11–U12 and $315 for U13–U19; low-income scholarships are considered individually. Milby Park Fields at 2001 Central Street is the listed field and office. Its tryout notice also referenced teams around Alief Park, so confirm the assigned site and whether late registration remains possible. The official fee page explains the current amounts and scholarship request.
South of central Houston, HTX Soccer South covers Clear Lake, Friendswood and League City. Its list includes recreation and adaptive soccer for U4–U18, a U7–U10 Youth Academy, competitive teams U11–U18, camps, futsal, goalkeeper training and college showcases. The three parks serve distinct groups: competitive girls and Friendswood recreation at Centennial Park; competitive boys and Clear Lake recreation at Dave Finkle Fields in Houston; League City recreation at Chester L. Davis Sportsplex. The South page links 2026–27 tryouts but does not publish one current fee for every path, so ask for team tuition, uniforms and tournament travel.
For a shorter commitment, Houston Dynamo and Dash Youth Programs offer seasonal, development and fantasy camps for boys and girls ages 6–16, usually four days. Venues rotate among Houston Sports Park, Katy and Deer Park; the club says registration closes at least 48 hours before a camp. A separate Dynamo Academy Winter ID Camp is scheduled at Houston Sports Park December 12–13, 2026, for boys 13–17. Sessions run 5:30–7:30 p.m.; registration starts at $150, and only selected participants may be invited to continue with an Academy team. The evaluation does not guarantee a roster place.
Match the child’s age and experience to the weekly calendar and the actual drive to the assigned field. H-Town’s scholarship process may lower the price of a competitive season; HTX serves several southern communities; Dynamo/Dash camps provide club-led instruction for a few days. Ask what tuition covers, which league a team enters, whether equipment is extra and whether tournaments require travel. A camp is useful for a taste of the game, but a child wanting recurring play should compare the local season programs instead.
Confirm the child’s team, current field assignment and full season cost before registering.
