Living in Florida is not enough to decide which Colombian Consulate General to visit. The state is split between two districts: Miami publishes a list of 17 southern counties, while Orlando lists the counties in central and northern Florida. Miami’s page names Manatee, Hardee, Highlands, Okeechobee, St. Lucie, Sarasota, DeSoto, Glades, Martin, Charlotte, Lee, Hendry, Palm Beach, Collier, Broward, Monroe and Miami-Dade. Miami’s office is in Coral Gables; Orlando operates a separate office for its own area. Residents of Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville or another city should check the exact county in Orlando’s list rather than assume geographic proximity to Miami determines jurisdiction.
The Miami office is listed at 280 Aragón Avenue, Coral Gables, Florida 33134. Its official hours page says that, from September 8, 2026, continuous service runs Monday to Friday, 8 a.m.–2 p.m., except holidays. Document collection has a different window, 8 a.m. to noon. Google Maps identifies the same office, with the same official website and emergency phone; it also displays a weekly schedule, but for a consular procedure the official hours page and confirmed appointment are the better planning references.
The starting rule is clear: Miami handles routine procedures by appointment only; the calendar opens each business day at 10 a.m. for the next business day. The process requires a camera-equipped phone, tablet or computer because the site uses facial recognition, and the confirmed appointment is personal and non-transferable. The consulate says not to attend without an appointment; it lists document collection and life certificates as exceptions. Visa applications are online only. Booking is free and the portal advises against intermediaries.
The catalogue covers passports, national ID cards, identity cards, birth, marriage and death registrations, authentications, powers and signature recognition, minors’ exit permissions, residence certificates and nationality procedures. Passport instructions require valid Colombian identification and, for minors, a civil birth record and attendance with a parent or representative. Photographs are taken at the office; for ID cards, the consulate recommends dark clothing that covers the shoulders. In-person payment is by debit or credit card except for explicitly listed procedure exceptions; do not assume cash is accepted. Each civil-registration procedure has its own originals and formalities, so checking the exact page helps prevent an incomplete visit.
Two administrative details make the visit easier to plan. The official page limits entry to no more than 20 minutes before the appointment and says the confirmation and requirements should be available on the visitor’s phone. It also gives different return or cancellation deadlines for uncollected documents: six months for passports and one year for ID cards on the pages reviewed. These periods are distinct and should not be applied to other documents. Even if a slot is released for the next day, the short lead time does not remove the need to prepare paperwork before booking.
Public reviews on the exact Google Maps listing include differing accounts of service: some comments praise quick handling of particular procedures and professionalism, while others describe less favourable visits or waiting. Rather than present one person’s experience as the norm, the useful lesson is to allow time and prepare for the appointment and paperwork. Booking does not guarantee a result; official requirements determine whether an application can be processed.
We found a difference between government sources on island territories: Miami’s jurisdiction page mentions Bermuda, while the general directory of Colombian offices in the United States assigns the Commonwealth of the Bahamas to Miami. We do not replace one official page with another or infer which island is covered; residents there should confirm their competent office with the Foreign Ministry. For Florida residents, the county-by-county list and Miami/Orlando division provide the clearest territorial guide. The Consulate General of Colombia in Miami profile brings together its address, contact channels, hours and review context from the exact office listing.

Guide checked on October 18, 2026 against the official Colombian consulates in Miami and Orlando, Foreign Ministry pages and the exact Google Maps listing in Coral Gables. We found an official-source difference in island coverage (Bermuda/Bahamas) and flag it rather than infer an answer.
Before planning a trip, locate your county in the consular district list and check whether Miami or Orlando serves it. Routine Miami service requires a free, personal, non-transferable appointment; the system releases next-business-day slots at 10 a.m. and requires a camera-equipped device for facial recognition. Bring the originals listed for passports, IDs, civil records or notarial acts. Document collection has a separate morning window and should not be confused with procedure hours.
