ASAHINA Gastronome is a French restaurant in Tokyo’s Nihonbashi Kabutocho neighborhood, in Chuo City. It opened in 2018 under chef Satoru Asahina, with a stated approach built on two pillars: the legacy of French culinary tradition and its contemporary reinterpretation.
The Michelin Guide recognized the restaurant with one star in the 2020 Tokyo edition and a second in the 2022 edition. The restaurant says it continues to hold the distinction.
Chef Satoru Asahina’s Career

The following year, he studied at SAS École Maître Crêpier-ECOLES TREBLEC in Rennes, Brittany, trained at La Saint Georges in the same city, and went on to coordinate and supervise the kitchens at Le Café de Joël Robuchon and La Boutique de Joël Robuchon.
In 2011, he became head chef at Château Restaurant La Table de Joël Robuchon, a two-Michelin-star restaurant, and held the position through the 2017 edition. In 2012, he represented Japan at the 63rd Prosper Montagné international competition, taking first place in the sweets and desserts category and third place overall. In 2016, he chaired Avancée, an association of cooking competition winners.
