About Ocean Spa Fuua

Ocean Spa Fuua occupies part of the Atami Bay Resort Korakuen complex, facing Sagami Bay. It is a day spa designed for spending several hours: indoor and outdoor baths, a roughly 25-metre hot-spring bath with an open horizon, relaxation areas, lounges and wellness services. The experience centres on looking out to sea as the hot water and quiet spaces set a slower pace than a quick stop around Atami Station. It is not a ryokan or a small public bath, but a large facility with admission rules, fees and gender-separated bathing areas.

The official standard adult price is ¥3,080 on weekdays and ¥3,410 on weekends, public holidays and special days, plus a ¥150 bath tax; reduced rates after 5 pm are also listed. Towel and robe rental are included. The spa does not take advance bookings and may restrict entry when crowded. Children under four are not admitted, visitors under 18 need an adult guardian, and the published rules refuse entry to people with tattoos or body art—an important point to know before planning a visit.

Visitors often praise the ocean view from the outdoor baths, the places to rest and the chance to spend half a day without leaving the complex. Some, however, find the price high, mention crowding or expected more from the sauna facilities. There is also a specific temporary restriction now: the panoramic sauna is closed for renovation until mid-December 2026, and the free-flowing outdoor bath is closed through 16 October; other outdoor standing baths, indoor baths with views and the cold-water bath remain open. This notice may change, so check the day’s update.

A free shuttle bus runs from Atami Station to the complex; local buses towards Atami-kōrakuen are another option. The spa is not beside the station itself, so allow around ten minutes for the transfer plus shuttle waiting time. It suits travellers who want panoramic bathing, rest areas and indoor facilities in one place; it is neither the cheapest option nor the simplest choice for a brief stop. Check the official calendar, renovation notices, entry rules and that day’s surcharge before setting out.
