About Ristorante Torcolo Verona

Torcolo occupies 11 Via Carlo Cattaneo a short walk from the Verona Arena. The Barca family says boiled and roasted meats have been served here since 1930, and the trolley bringing them to the table remains its signature. There are two dining rooms and outdoor space; a visit can be a local-tradition lunch after seeing the amphitheatre or dinner before a performance. Its history should be distinguished from other businesses with Torcolo in the name: this profile concerns only the Cattaneo address.

The official menu and introduction emphasise boiled and roasted meats, accompanied by Veronese preparations such as pearà sauce, and a broad cellar of Italian and French wines. Posted hours are daily 12:00–14:30 and 19:00–22:30. The gap between services matters: leaving the Arena in mid-afternoon does not mean the kitchen will be open. Piazza Bra is close enough to continue towards Castelvecchio or return to the square, although a leisurely meal here may occupy much of the lunch period.

Reviews praise the meat trolley, carefully kept atmosphere and staff who help guests choose wine. Less favourable accounts mention the pace of service or the value of the meal. Torcolo is best understood as a table for a specific speciality, not a budget shortcut simply because it is close to the Arena. Tre Marchetti is also nearby but presents the region’s food differently in a dining room with its own design.
