About DocOnCall

DocOnCall: online medical consultations with Irish doctors registered with the IMC

DocOnCall is an Irish telemedicine platform that connects patients with doctors registered with the Irish Medical Council (IMC) through video or phone consultations. The service operates every day of the week, from 7:00 to 23:00, and allows same-day appointments. According to the platform's own information, the average wait is under fifteen minutes and consultations start at €34.99.

How the consultation works

The process is divided into three steps. First, the patient chooses the type of consultation (video or phone) and selects an available time slot. Then they access a secure patient portal at the reserved time. Finally, they receive the electronic prescription or the corresponding certificate. Prescriptions are sent directly to the pharmacy indicated by the patient or, if preferred, can be forwarded to Lir Pharmacy for dispensing and home delivery nationwide. This forwarding costs €3, which the company describes as an administrative fee and not a delivery charge. Collection from the pharmacy chosen by the patient remains the default and free option. Some medicines, such as controlled or refrigerated ones, cannot be sent this way.
