A Site Spanning More Than Five Hectares

The site’s history dates to 1872, when Georges Blanc’s great-grandparents settled in Vonnas as coffee roasters and lemonade makers. After the chef joined the family business, the neighborhood gradually changed: nearly 30 houses around the original restaurant were renovated or restored to create today’s Village Blanc. The project incorporated gardens, green spaces, lighting, and the presence of water as defining features. Each building has an illustrated display telling its own story and the history of the trades that once shaped local commerce.

Restaurants and Culinary Offerings

The destination’s dining options include several venues. Restaurant Gastronomique Georges Blanc is the main restaurant and has held a Michelin star since 1929. It is joined by the brasserie L’Ancienne Auberge and La Terrasse des Étangs. The cooking draws on the chef’s home region and family history, revisited with elegance and simplicity. The calendar lists events such as Les Grandes Tablées’ “Blanc & Sous Bois” evening, scheduled for Thursday, November 12, 2026, starting at 7 p.m., with a welcome aperitif, a four-course gourmet menu, wine pairings, and music by Pure Duo.

Accommodations

Village Blanc includes several hotel options. Hôtel Georges Blanc Parc & Spa is a five-star property within the main site. Hôtel du Bois Blanc has four stars, and Hôtel Les Saules has three. The group also offers other properties outside Vonnas, including Château d’Épeyssoles, about two minutes from the village.
