Cutler & Co., restaurant and bar on Gertrude Street, Fitzroy

Cutler & Co. is a restaurant and bar opened by Andrew McConnell in 2009 in a former metal works factory in Fitzroy, Melbourne's first suburb. The venue occupies a glass façade on Gertrude Street and, according to the house's own presentation, has evolved over more than sixteen years while maintaining an approach of refined, simple and hospitable dining, connected to its neighbourhood and the city.

Dining room, bar and private event space

The establishment brings together a dining room, a bar and a private function space. In the bar you can walk in without a reservation for a bite to eat and a drink; for the dining room, booking is recommended. The menu is organised into food, drinks and a wine section, and the website includes a journal and the option to purchase gift vouchers.

Opening hours and Sunday service

Open Wednesday to Saturday from 5:30 pm until late. On Sundays it offers all-day dining, from 12 pm until late.

How to get there

The restaurant is located on the #11 and #96 tram routes. For the #11, the recommended stop is 13, on the corner of Brunswick Street and Gertrude Street; for the #86, stop 12 (Melbourne Museum), on the corner of Gertrude Street and Nicholson Street. From Parliament Station it is about a ten-minute walk. By car, the website suggests the Secure Car Park at the Melbourne Museum, at 11 Nicholson Street, Carlton, open every day from 6:00 am to midnight, with access via Rathdowne Street or Nicholson Street.
