About Giday

Giday: AI virtual receptionist for Australian small businesses

Giday is an AI-powered virtual phone reception service for small businesses in Australia. It answers calls 24/7 with an Australian voice, books jobs directly into the business calendar and, on plans that include it, provides quotes from the customer's price list. The company presents itself as an honest alternative: the virtual receptionist never pretends to be a person, every call starts by stating it is recorded and, if a caller asks to speak to a human, they are transferred or a priority message is taken.

How it works and integration with your business

The service is activated by diverting the business phone number using a dial code, reversible at any time. Giday keeps the customer's number and branding, and the virtual receptionist answers with the configured greeting, services and hours. Appointments are booked into a live calendar — the business's own if connected (Steady plan and up) or one provided by Giday — and the customer receives an SMS confirmation. All other calls are logged as messages, with transcripts available on Steady and higher plans. Setup is instant: when you sign up, a receptionist is created with its own Australian number, and going live on your own number requires a single divert code.

Plans and pricing

Giday offers four monthly plans, priced in Australian dollars including GST, with no lock-in contract and no setup fees. The Starter plan costs $49 AUD per month and includes 30 minutes of calls (about 25 calls) and 60 SMS, with 24/7 answering, job booking, messages by SMS and email, and spam call screening. The Steady plan, at $99 AUD per month, increases to 60 minutes (about 50 calls) and 150 SMS, and adds a branded booking page and widget, live calendar reading and call transcripts. The Busy plan, at $199 AUD per month, includes 120 minutes (about 100 calls) and 350 SMS, plus quotes from the customer's price list, quote follow-up by SMS, integration with ServiceM8 or other job management systems, and a weekly performance report. The Flat Out plan, at $399 AUD per month, offers 300 minutes (about 250 calls) and 800 SMS, with email quotes with smart follow-up, custom call flows and routing, and same-business-day changes. Additional usage is billed at $3.00 AUD/minute on Starter, $2.50 on Steady, $2.00 on Busy and $1.65 on Flat Out, and $0.15 AUD per SMS. The company states that high-usage months are re-billed at the cheaper plan that covers them, and two consecutive months of overage are capped at one plan up, with no runaway charges.

Free trial and commitment

Giday offers a free 7-day trial or 60 minutes of calls, whichever comes first. The trial starts when the virtual receptionist answers its first call and allows real bookings. There is no lock-in contract and you can cancel at any time.

Measured data on performance

The company publishes metrics from its own calls measured between 30 July and 22 August 2026 on a real Australian business line. During that period, one in five calls answered arrived outside business hours and one in ten on a weekend. The typical time from greeting to booking a job in the calendar was 2.5 minutes. Call volume grew 24% during the measurement window. All bookings were synced with the owner's management system and confirmed by SMS. Callers who asked to speak to a person were transferred, quick questions were answered on the spot and telemarketers were screened out.

Capacity and legal aspects

The virtual receptionist can handle multiple simultaneous calls with no queue or hold music. All calls are transcribed and transcripts are available on the Steady plan and above. Every call begins with a mention that it is recorded, and the receptionist never claims to be a person. If a caller requests deletion of their data, the recording and transcript are deleted within one hour. The company states that the service is legal in all Australian states and territories provided recording is handled lawfully, and publishes a state-by-state guide on the law applicable to AI receptionists and call recording.

Quotes and price management

The customer can enter their price list in the dashboard or allow Giday to extract it from their website, and authorise the receptionist to quote. Quotes from the price list are available from the Busy plan. Any amount the system cannot interpret as a price is held and shown to the customer instead of being estimated.
