About Oztix
Oztix, ticketing for Australian live music
Oztix is an Australian ticketing company founded in 2003 and headquartered in Brisbane. It presents itself as the country's largest independent ticketing company and works with artists, venues, festivals, promoters and government events across Australia. The company sells tickets through artists', venues', festivals' and promoters' websites, as well as through its own website and its 1300 telephone call centre.
Activity and reach
The company works with organisers of music events, venues, shows, sports and government events. According to the data it publishes, it has sold more than 33 million tickets, collaborates with more than 22,000 event organisers and has a base of more than 7 million ticket buyers. Its platform is hosted in Australia and is developed and maintained in-house by a team of more than 50 full-time people, complemented by casual staff nationwide.
Origin and partnership model
Oztix was created by professionals who previously worked as event organisers, with experience in production from grassroots community events to large national festivals such as Big Day Out. The company describes its model as based on genuine partnerships rather than one-off transactions, and structures its offering around four pillars: specialist staff integrated into the client's team, operational service seven days a week with ISO certification, marketing reach through its attendee database —which according to the company reaches 25% of the population— and a secure platform hosted in Australia.
Services for ticket buyers
The company offers several ticket delivery methods. eTickets consist of a PDF file attached to the order confirmation email, with a QR barcode. The SMS option sends a link to the number provided during purchase, also with a QR code. In both cases the ticket can be displayed on a mobile phone and each QR code is scanned individually upon entry to the event. The company warns that delivery may take between 15 and 30 minutes and recommends checking the spam folder. There is also registered post delivery via Australia Post, with a tracking number sent by email and a signature required on delivery; if no one is available to sign, Australia Post leaves a card to collect the tickets at the local post office by presenting photo identification.
Customer service and support
Oztix serves ticket buyers, existing clients —venues and organisers—, new clients evaluating ticketing options and corporate enquiries from media, speaking engagements, brand partnerships, policies and employment. The customer experience team is available Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 16:30 (AEST) and Saturdays from 8:30 to 16:30, in the latter case online only, via the contact form or by phone on 1300 762 545. The company states that it no longer has the My Account feature and does not offer a customer app; the Oztix Check-In app is intended for event staff.
Security, compliance and governance
The company declares that it holds ISO 9001:2015 certification, PCI DSS level 2 compliance, an Australian privacy policy, a service level agreement of 99.99% availability and Data Act compliance. In terms of social and corporate governance, it mentions diversity policies, support for Indigenous communities, workplace health and safety, modern slavery, domestic and family violence, inclusive hiring and an environmental management policy aimed at reducing its footprint. It also states that it maintains partnerships and sponsorships with the Australian live events industry.
Leadership team
Oztix's leadership consists of Stuart Field and Brian Chladil as directors and founders, Seth Clancy as commercial director, Renee Thrupp as operations manager, Brad Hinds as head of music, Kristen Goldup as brand director, Owen Banks as head of innovation, Bec Goulter as marketing manager, Steve Tassone as general manager, Michelle Lee as chief financial officer and Dave George as head of data. The company notes that behind this team are dedicated areas for innovation, operations, marketing, events, content, commercial and finance.
