Acorn Stairlifts PTY

Acorn Stairlifts in Australia

Acorn Stairlifts PTY is the Australian subsidiary of a manufacturer specialising exclusively in stairlifts. The company produces all its equipment in its own factories in the United Kingdom and exports it to more than 80 countries. In Australia it operates from two locations: one in Belrose, New South Wales, and another in O'Connor, Western Australia.

Stairlift range

The company markets three main product lines:

• Acorn 130 for straight staircases: a solution for straight flights that allows you to regain full use of your home.
• Acorn 180 for curved staircases: designed to adapt to any type of curved staircase.
• Acorn 130 for outdoor use: designed to provide access to outdoor spaces.

All models can incorporate an optional hinged rail, designed to eliminate obstructions and trip hazards at the foot of the stairs.

Technical and installation features

According to the company's information, the stairlifts are fixed to the stairs and not to the wall, so they require no structural changes to the home. They are presented as slimline units that fold away when not in use, with low running costs. The company offers the possibility of next day installation.

Buying process and virtual survey

The process begins with a home survey that lasts approximately one hour, or with a virtual survey that is completed in 30 minutes or less and reduces in-person contact. From there, an Acorn representative gets in touch to arrange the visit and provide a free, no-obligation quote. The company also sends free information brochures.

Service and aftercare

In addition to installation, the company offers maintenance and aftercare services. It has a loyalty programme called Acorn Club and the StairSafe solution. The website includes sections on funding and assistance, quality and testing, and a complaints procedure.

Presence and customers

The company states that every day more than 180 people regain their independence with an Acorn stairlift. Among the published testimonials are customers from St Ives and Newport, in New South Wales, who highlight the speed of service and the efficiency of the installation.
