¿Dónde alojarse en Mariposa para visitar Yosemite?

Cuatro bases en Mariposa para visitar Yosemite, desde un hotel práctico en el centro hasta glamping y pequeñas posadas históricas.

Mariposa works when Yosemite is part of the day, not the whole evening

Staying in Mariposa for a Yosemite trip is a conscious trade. It is not the same as sleeping inside Yosemite Valley or immediately outside a park entrance. What Mariposa gives back is a real small town at the beginning and end of the day: restaurants, shops, groceries and lodging choices that can feel less isolated than a park-centered stay.

Mariposa Lodge is the straightforward option in town. Yosemite Mariposa County currently describes it as affordable and walkable to restaurants, shops and a YARTS stop, which makes it useful for travelers who want simple logistics after a long day outside. Mariposa Hotel Inn and 5th Street Inn move the experience toward smaller, more local-scale lodging in the historic downtown area, better suited to visitors who would rather stay in an inn than a conventional roadside hotel.

Wildhaven Yosemite changes the tone entirely. Its furnished tents and cabins keep the overnight experience closer to the outdoors while still providing a defined lodging property near Mariposa. It can make sense for travelers who like the idea of camping atmosphere but do not want to organize a campsite and sleeping setup themselves.

Do not confuse “gateway town” with “park entrance”

The important planning point is distance. Mariposa is a Yosemite gateway community, but it is not Yosemite Valley. Drive times can change with traffic, road work, weather and where inside the park you are headed, so an early start still matters. The payoff comes later: when the park day is over, Mariposa gives travelers a town to return to. For some trips, that is worth more than shaving every possible minute from the morning drive.
