¿Dónde alojarse en Mendocino?

Posadas accesibles a pie en el pueblo y alojamientos frente al océano sobre los espectaculares acantilados de Mendocino.

In Mendocino, choose village walkability or the edge of the Pacific

Mendocino Village is small enough that the difference between “in town” and “oceanfront” can be measured in minutes, yet the feeling changes quickly. The village has wooden historic buildings, restaurants and shops; around it, the Mendocino Headlands bring the Pacific to the edge of town. Hotels and inns take advantage of both sides of that geography.

Headlands Inn Bed & Breakfast and Nicholson House at Beaujolais put village life first. They make sense for travelers who want to walk to dinner, coffee and shops and reach the headlands without organizing the car. The experience is closer to staying inside a small coastal town than retreating to a self-contained resort.

Alegria Oceanfront Inn & Cottages brings the bluff setting more directly into the stay while remaining at the village edge. Sea Rock Inn, on the northern side, shifts even more toward ocean views and a quieter atmosphere. For a traveler whose Mendocino image is fog, cliffs and the Pacific rather than storefronts, that extra separation can be the point.

Here, the landscape is the main amenity

Visit Mendocino currently lists a deep mix of inns, B&Bs, cottages and hotels, and the state park system confirms that Mendocino Headlands State Park wraps around the village on three sides. That geography is why a short list of generic hotel features is not enough. Decide whether you want the town or the ocean to dominate the first view in the morning. In Mendocino, both can be close — but they do not feel the same.
