About Crafton Hills College — Main Campus
Crafton Hills College is based at 11711 Sand Canyon Road in Yucaipa, serving students from the east-valley communities of the SBCCD district. Its setting is distinct from a city-center college: programs, student services and parking are organized across a campus reached from Sand Canyon Road. Crafton lists more than 50 majors and career options, arranged into academic and career pathways. Students can compare liberal arts and sciences, business, computer information systems, emergency medical services, fire technology, allied health and respiratory care, then use the catalog to see the precise award, prerequisites and course sequence.
The college began serving the region in the early 1970s and is now one of two separate colleges in SBCCD. Its campus directory lists a library and learning resource center, tutoring center, fitness center, athletic and aquatic facilities, student center and cafeteria, financial aid, counseling, health and wellness, accessibility services, food pantry, career services and a university transfer center. These resources give students several kinds of support in one location, but hours and access can vary by term; check the department page before making a special trip.
New students apply online, complete the college’s enrollment steps and register for the classes required by their program. California residents pay $46 per semester unit before mandatory fees and course-specific expenses. FAFSA or CADAA can open federal and state aid review; Crafton’s financial aid office offers free assistance and explains the California College Promise Grant. The district says the fee waiver can apply at both colleges when the aid form is filed under the code for the student’s home program. Confirm residency classification, unit load and any equipment or exam costs with financial aid and the program department.
Crafton’s ESL/Multilingual Program is a noncredit sequence intended to strengthen everyday communication, workplace English, academic reading and writing, and readiness for English 101. Its four levels run from low-intermediate to advanced; the college specifically says it does not offer a beginner class. Courses are offered without tuition, and students who need a more introductory level are referred to local adult schools. Ask the program which level is appropriate, whether the current schedule is in person or online and what the next transition step would be if your goal is a credit-bearing certificate or degree.
The campus has a published parking program. Student and daily permits are required during weekday enforcement hours, while weekends and summer sessions are exempt under the current page. The posted prices are $45 for a fall or spring semester student permit and $3 for a daily permit; student permits work at Crafton, Valley and the district office. Use the campus map for the building and parking lot attached to your appointment or class. The main phone is 909-794-2161, and the college’s admissions, financial-aid and student-services pages list direct contacts for program-specific questions.
