WSU Tech — National Institute for Culinary and Hospitality Education (NICHE)

The National Institute for Culinary and Hospitality Education (NICHE) occupies 124 S. Broadway in downtown Wichita. WSU Tech treats it as one of its four Wichita campuses, while NICHE describes a working culinary and hospitality environment built around instruction and public-facing food and event operations. For students who learn by doing, the lesson can move from recipe and food-safety practice to service in a real venue.

NICHE says students in its two-year associate program complete more than 1,000 hours of culinary lab instruction and can gain experience in the Bistro, Food Hall, events and catering. Its site also highlights the Envision Innovation Kitchen, a training and internship setting for blind and visually impaired learners, and Henry’s Place, an event center with a rooftop terrace. Public dining, workshops and event schedules change; check NICHE’s current calendar before planning a visit.

The campus address is 124 S. Broadway, Wichita, KS 67202. WSU Tech lists NICHE as a downtown instructional campus, and Wichita Transit’s city map covers central routes nearby. Parking availability varies by location; follow posted signs or contact NICHE about event access. Students applying to Culinary Arts should confirm whether general-education sections meet at South or online, because not every class in a credential is necessarily held at NICHE.
