The Kelly Fitzpatrick Center for the Arts

Free-entry downtown gallery interpreting regional art, with a permanent collection, changing exhibitions and separately scheduled classes.

About The Kelly Fitzpatrick Center for the Arts

The Kelly Fitzpatrick Center for the Arts gives downtown Wetumpka an indoor encounter with regional visual culture. The Hill Street gallery takes its name from the Alabama artist and presents permanent holdings alongside changing exhibitions. It is a place to examine works and their context, rather than merely pass a familiar name on a map.

The collection includes Fitzpatrick and artists connected with his regional circle. Permanent ownership does not mean every work is continuously displayed. The center asks visitors to arrange viewing of collection pieces not currently on exhibition. Contact the gallery before a journey organized around a particular artist or painting.

General gallery entry is free. Classes, workshops and special programs follow their own calendar and may have fees or enrollment conditions. The center organizes Wetumpka Wildlife Arts Festival; its 2026 edition is announced for October 24, 9 a.m.–3 p.m., in historic downtown. That dated event should be distinguished from an ordinary gallery visit.

Regular hours are Tuesday–Saturday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m., with published holiday and weather exceptions. Public areas are on one level and wheelchair accessible, but doors lack push-plate activation; staff offer assistance. A restroom handrail and welcome for service animals are specifically described. Use those concrete access details to plan a comfortable visit, and check the current exhibition rather than expect one permanent display arrangement.
