Semper Fi Striping: parking lot and sports court striping in Texas

Semper Fi Striping is a parking lot and sports court striping company based in Weatherford, Texas, in the Fort Worth metropolitan area. It was founded in 2014 by Tyler Petty and James Thetford, both natives of Tolar, Texas, who graduated high school together and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2012. The company began as a part-time striping business that grew into a full-time operation.

The company presents itself as a service provider for commercial properties, parking facilities, and sports courts, and states it has completed more than 1,000 projects, served more than 500 clients, and installed more than 1.4 million linear feet of pavement markings. It has more than 30 active team members, including 20 field-crew accounts.

Parking services

The service catalog includes parking lot striping, parking lot accessories, parking lot sweeping, pressure washing, and dustless blasting. The company explains that parking lot striping helps mark spaces for people with disabilities in compliance with the ADA, and includes accessibility markings, pavement, and pedestrian markings. It also mentions the assignment of special spaces for curbside pickup, pregnant women, or employees, and the need to keep specific markings visible at airports.

Parking lot accessories are installed for legal, safety, or functional reasons, and the company handles their removal and replacement when they deteriorate or their installation in new parking lots. The sweeping service includes leaves, asphalt rock, dirt, and debris. Pressure washing removes stains, engine fluid leaks, and other contaminants.

Sports courts

The company also stripes basketball, pickleball, tennis, and volleyball courts. The material mentions tips for pickleball court striping in Dallas, which confirms this line of work.

SDVOSB certification and contracts

Semper Fi Striping holds Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) certification, which qualifies it for federal and state projects that require working with HUB-certified companies. The company notes that this certification gives it access to more opportunities and strengthens its credibility for contracts with strict standards.

Coverage and service area

Based in Weatherford, the company serves the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area and the rest of Texas. Its coverage extends to Austin and the Hill Country region, the Gulf Coast (Houston, Galveston, and Beaumont), South Texas (San Antonio, Corpus Christi, and Laredo), and West Texas (El Paso, Midland-Odessa, Abilene, and Lubbock). It also works in the neighboring states of Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arkansas, and Louisiana. The company states that its crews have a combined 14 years of experience in the Marine Corps.

Process and cost considerations

According to the published information, most restriping projects are completed in one or two days with minimal disruption. Factors that can influence the final cost include the number of parking spaces, whether the markings are applied over freshly paved asphalt, and the need to mark crosswalks, numbers, letters, or arrows. The company indicates that it works with commercial and nonprofit organizations in the Fort Worth metropolitan area to maximize parking space and minimize liability, and that it can offer recommendations for services outside its scope, such as electricians, roofing companies, vehicle wraps, or print shops.

Founders and community

The founders, Tyler Petty and James Thetford, maintain a connection with their hometown community and support veterans through charity work and local improvement projects. The company states that its mission goes beyond pavement marking and seeks to serve its community with honor, precision, and pride.
