Columbian Theatre, Museum & Art Center

The Columbian Theatre, Museum & Art Center connects nineteenth-century cultural ambition with a working stage in present-day Wamego. Its historical identity includes rare paintings from Chicago’s 1893 World’s Fair and the vision of J. C. Rogers, whose association with the building forms part of the institution’s own account of its origins.

The theatre is more than a preserved interior. Productions, community events and arts participation keep the building in use, while the Swogger Art Gallery presents changing exhibitions associated with the Columbian Artist Guild.
