About Pima Community College — West Campus
West Campus, at 2202 West Anklam Road, was Pima’s first permanent campus and remains one of its broadest academic sites. The college’s history records that its first 1970 classes used temporary spaces and an airport hangar; the following year students began attending classes in the West Campus buildings. Today, the site west of the city brings together health training, arts and transfer coursework.
The Center of Excellence for Health Professions includes Nursing, Radiologic Technology and Respiratory Care. Dental Studies students practice in a teaching clinic with community members, and programs prepare dental hygienists, assistants and laboratory technologists. Digital Arts offers hands-on study in web design, film and video, graphic design, gaming and simulation, illustration and digital photography. Students can also pursue an Associate of Arts with a Fashion Design concentration.
The Center for the Arts includes a 425-seat proscenium theatre, a Black Box Theatre, a recital hall with more than 75 seats and the Louis Carlos Bernal Gallery. Music, art, theatre and photography students present work there for the public. West is a campus where career advising may lead to a clinical practice, an exhibition or a performance. Pima says parking is free at its campuses and Sun Tran serves them; use the campus map to find the right academic or arts building.
