About Interfaith Community Services — Senior Services, Tucson

Interfaith Community Services (ICS) works with older adults and people with disabilities who need help remaining at home. Its senior services focus on food, transportation, and in-home support. The Northwest Office is at 2820 West Ina Road and the Central Office at 122 North Craycroft Road; both list 520-297-6049.

Mobile Meals delivers fresh food at lunchtime once a week, with the option of a second meal for dinner; its food-box program delivers fresh food and pantry staples once a month. Food programs require a phone screening, and the current delivery area listed is limited to Northwest Tucson, Oro Valley, and Marana. The page also describes SNAP payment for mobile meals and income verification for food boxes.

The transportation program uses volunteer vehicles to take clients to medical appointments or grocery shop with them; volunteers can also shop using the client’s list and payment method. Participation requires an in-home evaluation and annual reassessment, and the transportation page says clients must demonstrate financial need. Living near an office does not by itself guarantee a ride.

The offices list hours Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday until noon. Calling first helps determine whether an address is in the service zone and which assessment applies. Ask whether meals arrive fresh or frozen, whether a prescribed diet can be accommodated, and how much notice a ride requires.

ICS does not replace medical care or automatically cover all of Pima County. During the call, provide the ZIP code, mobility needs, income if requested, meal or appointment frequency, and whether the person needs help entering a store. If the program does not cover the address, ask PCOA to identify a community alternative that does.
