Aurora, ambient lighting to unwind at home

Aurora is an online store specializing in soft lighting and ambient projectors aimed at creating calm environments in the home. Its approach focuses on replacing harsh nighttime light with slow movements and flows of light that, according to the company itself, help the mind unwind and the body relax. The brand says it has served more than 200,000 customers, and its catalog is presented as a tool for building a nighttime rest ritual.

Projectors and lamps in the catalog

The standout product is the Aurora Projector, which projects northern lights onto the ceiling and, according to the company, is the item its customers use every night. The store offers it at a list price of $99, reduced from $159. Alongside it are other options:

• Atlas Projector: presented as a new arrival, with 60 HD scenes capable of transforming any room; priced at $179 versus $299.
• Galaxy Projector: $69 (was $99).
• Luma Movie Projector: $149 (was $249).
• Levitating Moon Lamp: $149 (was $249).
• Galaxy Lamp: $59 (was $89).
• Circadian Body Clock Bulb: $24 (was $39).
• Sleep Patches, in a 30-night supply format: $24 (was $39).

The catalog is organized into several families: light projectors, ambient lamps and bulbs, red and infrared light therapy, and complementary accessories.

The approach: soft light as a signal to rest

The company builds its approach on a simple idea: the body reads light as a signal. Bright lighting keeps the mind active, while soft, warm light signals that the day is over. Aurora describes its role as filling the room with calm instead of glare, and it places the start of rest long before getting into bed. The project is summed up in the motto the brand itself uses: softer light, slower evenings.

Everyday use and customer profiles

The testimonials on the site describe a range of situations: people looking to relax after a season of caring for a family member, users who pair the projector with white noise to stop looking at their phone before bed, those who want to turn the living room into a spa-like space, or post-surgical recovery patients who need a soft, comforting environment. The use of the 30-minute timer to fall asleep without paying attention to the device is also mentioned.

Purchasing and shipping

The store offers free shipping on orders over $80 and is running a seasonal promotion with 40% off. It accepts payments with American Express, Apple Pay, Bancontact, Diners Club, Discover, Google Pay, Mastercard, PayPal, Shop Pay, and Visa. The site's reference currency is the US dollar and the default locale is the United States, although the country selector allows you to choose from a broad list of international markets.
