Stitch Fix is a personal styling service for women, men, and kids that sends handpicked pieces to your home. It works through a style quiz where you share your preferences, sizes, and budget, and then a human Stylist puts together a personalized box, called a Fix, with free shipping and returns.

How the service works

The process starts with a style quiz where you detail your style, size, and budget. Then you're matched with a personal Stylist who selects the pieces and sends them in your Fix box. You try everything on at home and keep what you love, sending back the rest for free. No subscription is required: you can choose automatic deliveries at whatever frequency you prefer—every two or three weeks, monthly, every other month, or every three months—or request one-off boxes whenever you need a wardrobe refresh.

Pricing and fees

The service adapts to the budget you set, and you can set price ranges by item type. Women's and men's items start at around $28 and go up to about $500; kids' items start at $10. Each Fix order includes a $20 styling fee, which is credited toward whatever you keep. Special discounts apply on every Fix and when you keep five or more items. Shipping, returns, and exchanges are always free.

Brands and available sizes

The platform works with over 2,000 brands and styles for women, men, and kids. Featured labels include Madewell, Vuori, Birkenstock, The North Face, Free People, Adidas, Beyond Yoga, and Travis Mathew, plus Stitch Fix exclusive brands. Women's sizes range from XS to 3X, including petite, plus, and maternity lines; men's from XS to 3XL, with big and tall options; and kids' from 2T to 18.

Tools and additional features

The service includes several tools to make the experience easier. Virtual Try-On lets you see how outfits look on you. Family accounts support one adult profile and up to four kids' profiles. Themed Fixes let you pick a theme—like workwear or date night—for your Stylist to personalize. Stylist Connect, available exclusively in the iPhone app, lets you ask a Stylist for advice at any time. StyleFile is a personalized experience that reveals your style personality based on five style types. Once you've received your first Fix, you get access to Freestyle, a personalized shop where you can buy pieces on your own, explore trends, and shop new colors or sizes of items you've already purchased.

Stylists and communication

Stitch Fix works with human personal Stylists across the United States. You can leave notes for your Stylist when scheduling each delivery, edit them until your Stylist starts putting your box together, and view your Fix history. Feedback on the items you receive and keep helps fine-tune your selections over time.
