Stanford Van Lines

A long-distance move does not begin when the truck arrives.

It starts with a list of furniture, deadlines, packing, and decisions about what needs to travel together. Stanford Van Lines coordinates moves from Thornton in the Chicago area and describes itself as a direct carrier for local, interstate, and long-distance relocations across the United States.

The service is designed to cover the move from start to finish.

Customers can request an estimate using details such as origin, destination, date, and home size; the company can then handle packing, loading, transportation, unloading, and placing belongings. Stanford says it works with its own crews and avoids brokers, an approach intended to keep the move coordinated by one team throughout the trip.

Along with furniture and boxes, the service covers items that need different planning, including pianos, safes, gym equipment, and medical equipment. For moves with a gap between pickup and delivery, the company offers storage during transit as well as longer-term storage options. It also lists consolidated long-distance moves and an expedited service with a dedicated truck, subject to availability and route details.

The company’s sales process centers on estimates set before moving day. Stanford Van Lines advertises fixed pricing without hidden fees and a plan tailored to the volume, distance, and packing needs of each move. Its website describes the service as door-to-door and lists USDOT 3978928 and MC 1489155 with its contact information.

The Thornton base supports a company serving both homes and offices on routes that may cross several states. For customers, the practical advantage is bringing the estimate, packing, transportation, and storage under one plan. Before booking, it helps to identify items that need special handling and decide whether the schedule calls for direct delivery or a period in storage.
