Plans and data

The company offers individual and multi-line plans. According to information on its website, most unlimited individual plans include 35 GB of high-speed data, while multi-line plans include 50 GB. Upon reaching these limits, speeds are reduced, except on rate-limited plans where SmartFlex is enabled to automatically upgrade to the next higher data plan. The $20 per month plan includes unlimited talk, unlimited text, and 1 GB of data.

Discounts for USAA and AARP members

USAA members and customers receive an extra 5% off monthly service and 30% off select accessories with an active membership ID. This discount does not include phones or devices, taxes, or fees. The company also participates in the USAA Perks program, administered through USAA Alliance Services, which offers products and services from third parties not affiliated with USAA.

For AARP members, there are commercial benefits provided by third parties. Providers pay a royalty fee to AARP for the use of its intellectual property. The stated annual reward reflects the total yearly savings from applying a 5% monthly discount to an AARP member's average invoice.

Satisfaction guarantee

Consumer Cellular offers a satisfaction guarantee: if the customer is not completely satisfied within 30 days (or 45 days in some promotions) of service activation, they can cancel and pay nothing, with a data usage limit of 500 MB.

Promotions and credits

The company has launched promotions that provide credits for each new line activated. For example, in one promotion, customers received $100 for each new line activated before December 31, 2021, applied as individual $5 credits on twenty monthly invoices. Another promotion offered $25 for each new line activated before March 31, 2022, applied as $5 credits on five monthly invoices. Promotional credits are applied to the customer's account for each net new line and are only valid for lines that remain in service. If the account becomes inactive before receiving the full amount, the remaining credits are forfeited. These offers may be modified or discontinued at any time and may not be combined with other offers, are not redeemable for cash, and are not transferable or refundable.
