Downriver Campus — WCCCD

WCCCD’s Downriver Campus sits on a wooded site in Taylor. The college describes more than 100 acres of farmland and woods, including a six-acre preserve with a walking path open to students, staff and the surrounding community. This setting is unlike the district’s Detroit campuses, while the address remains close to the I-94 and I-75 corridors.

Its signature programs include accounting, arts and general studies, automotive service technology, business administration, emergency medical technology, fire protection, homeland security and pre-physician-assistant study. The Michigan Institute for Public Safety Education trains first responders, while the Heinz C. Prechter Educational and Performing Arts Center hosts college and community events. Program availability varies by term; the districtwide list of 130-plus credentials is not delivered in full at every campus.

The address is 21000 Northline Road. WCCCD’s permit program applies to campus lots; the Prechter Center gives event visitors separate directions, with free lot parking subject to availability. Confirm whether a course meets in the main building, the public-safety institute or the arts venue, and check the schedule and route before travelling from Detroit or another part of the county.
