About St. Louis City — SLATE Job Center

In downtown St. Louis, SLATE works both as a public service office and a practical job-search workshop: staff offer career counselling, employer referrals, assessments, labour-market information and workshops on résumés, interviews and digital skills. The state listing also includes veterans’ support, accessible technology and training resources, some subject to funding availability. Job-search assistance is free; a referral is not a job offer or a hiring guarantee.

The office is at 1520 Market Street, Room 3050, St. Louis, MO 63103, and can be reached on 314-589-8000. Official hours are Monday and Tuesday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Thursday and Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. To begin online, create an individual account with MoJobs: the platform lets you search openings, build a résumé and explore training. Anyone with an account in the previous system should follow the state’s first-login and password-reset instructions.

If a session or referral stalls, note the date, whom you spoke with and what response you are waiting for; the centre lists info@stlworks.com. Missouri also maintains an Employment Service and job-centre service complaint system, with materials in English and Spanish and help from centre staff. For an equal-opportunity complaint involving SLATE, the state directory identifies Stacey Garner at stacey.garner@dhewd.mo.gov. These are separate routes, so explain whether the issue concerns service, a labour law or discrimination.

Do not pay a third party who claims it can “secure” a centre vacancy or speed up your hiring. The state describes MoJobs and SLATE as no-cost services for job seekers; each employer makes its own hiring decisions. Check that an opening appears on the employer’s legitimate website, keep copies of applications and messages, and call the centre to request specific guidance.
