Mountain Top houses what the company describes as the largest duty-free gift shop in the Caribbean and the leading duty-free store in the United States Virgin Islands. Its offering includes brands such as Columbia, Ray-Ban, Tommy Bahama and Island Life, as well as a wide selection of T-shirts, fine and costume jewelry, Caribbean larimar jewelry, beachwear, hats and footwear for the whole family. It also offers duty-free Cruzan Rum in all its popular flavors.

The banana daiquiri

The attraction is known for its banana daiquiri, whose recipe is attributed to British Captain George Soule. According to the company's account, in 1953 Soule set sail from Barbados in search of the ultimate Caribbean cocktail and, after traveling to several islands, concluded his search at Mountain Top, in St. Thomas. The drink combines Cruzan Rum from the Virgin Islands, sugar cane extract, ripe bananas from a nearby grove, fresh lime juice and a homemade banana liqueur whose recipe remains secret. The company states that more than three million visitors a year consume it on the premises.
