About Cloaked
Cloaked: tools to take back control of your digital privacy
Cloaked is a digital privacy platform aimed at the U.S. public that combines personal data removal, identity masking, and financial protection. Its approach is built around three pillars: cleaning up past exposure, defending present activity, and protecting the financial future of users and their families.
Data removal and exposure cleanup
The service removes personal information from more than 1,000 people search sites and data brokers that trade in such records. According to figures the company itself reports, more than 2.2 billion records have been removed from broker sites. The company maintains that by destroying that inventory, it reduces the material aggregators and scammers use to build profiles.
Aliases, call blocking, and private browsing
Cloaked lets you create email aliases and phone numbers with dedicated inboxes, so you don't have to share your real details when signing up or making purchases. The Call Guard feature intercepts unwanted calls, scams, and robocalls before they reach your phone; the company claims to have filtered more than 60 million calls. The platform also includes a VPN for private browsing and a password manager that generates and stores unique passwords and TOTP codes associated with each identity.
Dark web monitoring and identity theft insurance
The system continuously monitors the dark web for leaked records and alerts the user when their information appears compromised. As a complement, it offers up to $1 million in insurance against financial losses resulting from identity theft, with support to restore identity and credit. The company also offers Cloaked Pay, a payment method with masked virtual cards, available in beta and initially by invitation.
Features in development and for businesses
The company's catalog announces several capabilities not yet generally available: Cloaked AI, presented as a personal privacy agent; Family Sharing, to protect the data of multiple family members; and Cloaked AI Defense, aimed at combating deepfakes and AI-generated scams. For the workplace, there is Cloaked for Enterprise, a version designed to let employees bring privacy tools into their work environment.
Security, transparency, and public activity
The company states it is SOC 2 compliant and uses end-to-end encryption, and says it does not store or sell sensitive personal information. It maintains a blog with privacy news and tips, a research hub with its own findings, step-by-step opt-out guides, and a product changelog. It also promotes MyDataAct, an initiative to advance privacy protection legislation, and publishes information about investors and press coverage.
Reach and adoption
Cloaked presents itself as a tool used by hundreds of thousands of Americans. Among the figures it shares are more than 13 million masked accounts and more than 60 million calls filtered. The company notes that its current availability is limited to certain countries, without specifying which ones in the material reviewed.
