About Seattle Promise

Seattle Promise is a partnership among Seattle Colleges, Seattle Public Schools, and the city, funded principally by the FEPP education levy that voters renewed in 2025 through June 2032. It serves students graduating from an eligible Seattle public high school; the official page says there is no minimum GPA or income cap for entry. The class graduating in 2027 must submit both its Promise application and an admission application to one of the three colleges by February 12, 2027.

The award fills the remaining tuition balance after other scholarships and public aid, for up to two years, 90 college-level credits, or a first degree, whichever comes first. It is not a full living-cost scholarship: housing, food, books, and transportation depend on other resources. Students demonstrating financial need may receive additional equity funds for education-related expenses; the amount depends on financial-aid review and is not automatic for everyone.

For the class of 2027, the family checklist also sets April 30, 2027, for filing FAFSA or WASFA; the completed financial-aid file has a later July 30 deadline. Admitted students must attend Readiness Academy and Campus Connect orientation, register on time, and maintain attendance and academic progress. Before budgeting around a specific amount, ask the Seattle College financial-aid office for a written estimate of remaining tuition, uncovered charges, and renewal terms.
