Coastal Canvas Products: Custom Shade Structures in Savannah Since 1975

Coastal Canvas Products is a Savannah, Georgia-based company dedicated to the design, fabrication, and installation of shade structures and outdoor protection. Founded in 1975 as a canvas awning shop, the company presents itself as an outdoor architecture studio operating in the Lowcountry region, with a commercial presence in Georgia and South Carolina.

The company states it has 44,000 square feet of facilities for fabrication, powder coating, welding, and design, and more than 40 specialists who develop each project in-house, from concept to installation. According to its own description, products are designed for each structure, climate, and client, without starting from standard catalogs.

Residential Solutions

For homes and private properties, the catalog includes fabric awnings, retractable awnings, pergolas and louvered roofs, shutters, motorized screens, outdoor curtains, glass and screen enclosures, umbrellas, custom cabanas, and shade sails. It also offers metal awnings and canopies, custom metal fabrication, and flags and flagpoles.

The company describes these structures as an economical, low-maintenance alternative to comparable masonry or wood construction, capable of creating outdoor areas protected from the sun and inclement weather.

Commercial and Industrial Applications

In the commercial sector, Coastal Canvas Products supplies awnings, retractable awnings, fabric awnings, canopies and metal awnings, motorized screens, storm protection and security systems, louvered and retractable roofs, outdoor patio space solutions, glass and screen enclosures, interior shades, shade sails, umbrellas, custom cabanas, tension structures, signage and graphics, and industrial products.

The company notes that its solutions protect products, furnishings, employees, and customers from sun and rain, and that canopies and awnings can create sheltered entrances that reduce the risk of slips on hard flooring.

Storm Protection

For coastal areas exposed to hurricanes, the company offers a variety of storm protection and security shutter options. The firm presents these systems as a durable alternative to the repeated use of plywood panels, with the goal of preparing the home once.

In-House Fabrication and Technical Capabilities

Coastal Canvas Products integrates fabrication, welding, commercial powder coating, and design processes at its Savannah facilities. This capability allows it to undertake projects for awnings, pergolas, canopies, motorized screens, and storm protection systems, as well as tension structures, signage and graphics, and custom metal fabrication.
