San Diego Miramar College — Main Campus

Miramar College is in Mira Mesa, north of the city center, at 10440 Black Mountain Road. A campus transit center connects the site with MTS Rapid routes 235 and 237 and local bus service; the college describes links to regional rail connections as well. Drivers can use two parking structures and student lots, but a permit is required. The college map is useful before arrival because labs, the aviation and transportation facilities, student services and athletic spaces are distributed across the campus.

Founded in 1969, Miramar offers associate degrees and career certificates alongside the first two years of bachelor’s-level study. Its academic strengths include biotechnology, aviation, automotive and diesel technology, advanced transportation and energy, paralegal studies, business, fire technology and emergency medical training. The college houses the Southern California Biotechnology Center, Advanced Transportation and Energy Center and San Diego Regional Public Safety Institute. Those specialized facilities make it important to check whether the program’s lectures and hands-on labs meet at the main campus or another training location.

Miramar’s general contact number is 858-536-7800. Applicants use the district application and mySDCCD portal, then review degree maps, placement and program prerequisites with counseling. The campus also lists computer labs, library, student resources and athletics. Students taking at least seven units who meet district conditions can buy discounted MTS passes; financial-aid applicants may be eligible for reduced-fee parking, and EOPS participants may qualify for additional transport or parking support if funding permits. These programs have conditions, so check the college’s current transportation page before budgeting.
