About Palo Alto College

Palo Alto College’s 132-acre campus at 1400 W Villaret Boulevard anchors the South Side and serves students from southern San Antonio and surrounding communities. The college grew from community demand for nearby higher education and opened in 1985. Its campus includes academic buildings, the Ozuna Library and Learning Center, student services, health and wellness facilities, outdoor learning areas and technical labs; the college map helps locate the right office within the spread-out grounds.

Palo Alto offers transfer degrees, applied associate programs and certificates in fields such as health, business, public service, education and advanced manufacturing. Its adult ESL program is a useful starting point for English learners: incoming students take a placement assessment, are placed into one of five levels, and can progress through listening, speaking, reading and writing. The college advertises the eight-week adult classes as free, but enrollment dates and space are term-specific. Ask whether a class is noncredit and how to move into credit-bearing academic English when ready.

The district lists the campus address and phone; Palo Alto’s map shows marked lots and campus facilities. The site is served by VIA routes and the college publishes campus parking information; verify route schedules and any visitor instructions before traveling. The Student Center, Ozuna library and community programs make this location useful for both enrolled students and adult learners, but the class calendar determines when services are available. Confirm the exact building for ESL placement or program advising before the visit.
