About Northwest Vista College

Northwest Vista College occupies a west-side campus at 3535 N Ellison Drive. It opened in 1995 and has expanded into a landscaped campus with academic buildings, the Palmetto Center for the Arts, STEM and learning centers, library, student services and outdoor gathering areas. Its location serves the growing northwest side of San Antonio, and the campus map is useful for finding buildings spread across the property.

Programs include university-transfer study, applied science and technology, arts, business, health and workforce certificates. Northwest Vista also offers adult ESL as a noncredit sequence: six levels, 72 instructional hours each, organized in eight-week sessions. The published price is $400 per level; schedules include morning, evening and Saturday classes, subject to the current term. Learners are placed by level, and the college describes the sequence as taking about a year and a half for many students. Ask about current dates, materials and financial support before registering.

The college allows students and visitors to park in any open lot, with no separate visitor-only lot; parking garages currently carry no additional charge. Students do not need a decal for student lots. VIA Link serves the campus area, and the district resource page lists free VIA passes at some colleges, so confirm eligibility with NVC. Use the official parking page and current trip planner before traveling; the district’s student parking policy and visitor instructions are not identical at every campus.
