Dr. Bindewald's Background and Training

Dr. Bindewald has been caring for patients in San Antonio for more than fifteen years. He grew up on the Big Island of Hawaii, where he attended Hawaii Preparatory Academy, and graduated in Chemical and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Colorado. He studied medicine at the University of Hawaii (John A. Burns School of Medicine) and completed his general surgery training in Santa Barbara, California. He then trained in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center. He served as a general surgeon in the United States Navy, an experience that sparked his interest in reconstructive plastic surgery.

Dr. Bindewald is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is licensed by the Texas Medical Board and the Medical Board of California.
