About Utah Department of Workforce Services — Metro Employment Center
A few blocks from Salt Lake City’s civic centre, the Metro Employment Center is an in-person point of entry to the state employment network. Utah advertises free help polishing résumés, completing applications, practising interviews, searching for vacancies and exploring workshops or training. That does not mean everyone receives funding: training programmes have eligibility rules, and the process may include an application, an appointment with a counsellor and document checks.
The Department’s public listing brings together 263 reviews and shows mixed experiences: some users thank staff for their help and follow-up, while others describe frustration with calls and service. There is an important caveat: the listing belongs to the Department, and comments may concern food assistance or other state programmes rather than the employment office alone. They can signal how people experience customer service, but they do not prove that the centre broke a rule. If you need job-search help, say that your question is about Career Services and ask for the name of your counsellor or programme.
The centre is listed at 720 South 200 East, Salt Lake City, with the Department’s phone number, (801) 526-0950. If the local provider or supervisor cannot resolve an issue, Utah publishes a complaint form and a Customer Relations Specialist contact: (801) 526-4390 in Salt Lake or 1-800-331-4341 statewide. Keep the dates of calls, case numbers, documents submitted and responses received. If your issue concerns a public benefit other than job-search assistance, contact the relevant unit; sending it to the wrong programme can add another delay.
Free résumé, application and interview help, workshops, job-search resources and possible eligibility-based training support.
