Oregon Promise Grant

Oregon Promise helps recent high-school or GED graduates pay tuition at an Oregon community college. For the 2026 cohort, the agency lists annual awards from $2,280 to $4,716 for full-time, full-year students, but the grant does not necessarily cover fees, housing, or books. The amount varies with credits, other aid, and funds, so students should confirm the final account with the college.

For graduates from July 2026 through June 2027, Oregon Student Aid says applications begin opening in mid-October 2026. Students must submit the state application through the OSAC portal and FAFSA or ORSAA for the year they start college before the deadline tied to their graduation date. Deadlines are staggered; many high-school students need to apply during senior year or immediately after earning a GED.

Published requirements include 12 months of Oregon residency, at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA or the required GED score, enrollment at an Oregon community college in the specified term, and no more than 90 attempted or completed college credits. For the Class of 2026, the final announced SAI limit is below $27,000. Students get only one opportunity to apply; missing the cohort deadline can close this grant.

To estimate the real cost, ask the institution for a written breakdown of tuition, fees, housing, and expenses the award does not cover. Confirm renewal, academic-progress rules, and when funds are credited. Keep the award letter and application receipts.
