About City of Raleigh Active Adult Program

Raleigh’s Active Adult Program serves thousands of adults in the area through workshops, exercise, arts, languages, games, trips, and wellness activities. Golden Years Clubs require participants to be at least 50; many classes are open to adults of any age. The city supports more than 30 affiliated clubs that meet at community centres, churches, and senior housing, and publishes seasonal schedules with dates, fees, and availability.

Its main locations are Five Points Center for Active Adults, Anne Gordon Center at Millbrook Exchange Park, and Walnut Terrace Center. Raleigh offers registration through RecLink and describes day trips and overnight travel, educational seminars, exercise and wellness classes, art, dance, music, and games. The programme also helps plan the Wake County Senior Games each spring. It is not medical care or an in-home support benefit, but it can provide routine activity, social connection, and access to information about local resources.

To begin, review the current Active Adult brochure and search RecLink by activity, date, and venue; call the programme office at 919-996-2151. Registration, prices, and availability vary by class, so do not assume every activity has the same age rule. Five Points is at 2000 Noble Road and Anne Gordon at 1901 Spring Forest Road; Walnut Terrace has a separate downtown Raleigh address. Confirm the venue for each class before travelling.
