About Wake Tech — Beltline Education Center
Beltline Education Center, at 3200 Bush Street, is Wake Tech’s hub for non-degree Workforce Development and College & Career Readiness. It serves adults who may be looking for English instruction, a high-school credential or a short route to a job skill rather than a credit-bearing associate degree. Its role is different from the college’s transfer and degree campuses, even though the same institution operates both.
The center lists adult English as a Second Language, Adult Basic Education, Adult High School and preparation for GED or HiSET exams. Workforce programs include the WakeWorks Apprenticeship Center, a Mechatronics and Robotics Lab, and a non-degree School of Cosmetology with an on-site salon open to the public. Programs have separate entry steps, schedules and potential fees, so contact the relevant division before visiting.
Wake Tech says its ESL program is for adult non-native English speakers living or working in the United States, with workplace and college-readiness content. Students complete an interest form, attend a registration session and take placement assessments; the form itself is not enrollment. Classes may be online or in person, but online study is limited to students placed at Level 2 or above. The program cannot serve F-1 or J-1 visa holders.
Public comments connected with this exact center include positive accounts of instructors, facilities and adult English classes. Since sessions can fill and class locations vary across Wake County, use the current ESL interest form and ask College & Career Readiness to confirm the location, start date and required orientation. The building also has parking and GoRaleigh access; check the current map and route before travelling.
Beltline is the practical entry point for Wake Tech’s non-degree adult education: ESL, high-school equivalency, adult high school, apprenticeships, robotics and cosmetology training.
