Portland Schooner Co.

Historic Maine Schooner Sails from Portland

Portland Schooner Co. presents itself as an operator of sailing trips aboard historic Maine schooners, known as windjammers. Its offering combines traditional sailing with a schedule of daily departures designed for both the general public and groups seeking an exclusive vessel.

Sailing Options

The company structures its activity into three main formats:

• Two-hour public sails, open to individual passengers.
• Private charters of the vessel.
• Special events, with departures offered daily.

Vessels and Historic Character

The schooners used by the company are described as historic Maine sailboats, which places the experience within the region's maritime heritage rather than conventional nautical tourism. The company's own name refers to this type of traditional vessel.

Audience Profile

The combination of regular public departures and private options allows it to serve both visitors looking for a one-time activity and groups booking the entire vessel for a specific occasion.
