About Sneaker Week PDX

Sneaker Week PDX: footwear culture festival in Portland

Sneaker Week PDX is a Portland (Oregon) festival focused on sneaker culture and the local footwear industry. It began in 2017 as an initiative by Herbert Beauclere and Megan Davis, two brand managers with experience in the sector, and since then it has established itself as an annual event that connects global sneaker culture with the city's footwear ecosystem.

The organization presents itself as a platform for inclusion and as a bridge between fans, emerging professionals, and established companies. Its programming is developed in collaboration with community partners, corporate brands, and small businesses.

Motion in the Low End: the 2026 edition

The 2026 edition, held from July 31 to August 2 in the Lower Albina area of Portland, was titled Motion in the Low End. The program was organized around three pillars —knowledge, innovation, and culture— and brought together workshops, panels, screenings, a design combine, an evening dedicated to sustainability, a custom car show, a sneaker marketplace, and a live concert.

Friday, July 31 included a Benchmark customization workshop, a workshop and conversation on community collections, a special screening with discussion, and the SPARK event presented by Wilson Smith III. On Saturday, August 1, a tech talk with demo, the Design Combine, a Closet Cleanout PDX, and the Sustainability Soirée hosted by Wining While Black took place. On Sunday, August 2, the program closed with the K.I.C-Off Car Show, Kicks & Giggles, and the K.I.C-Off concert.

The organization announced that a recap film of the edition is in preparation, pending release.

Track record and reach

Since its founding, Sneaker Week PDX has programmed more than 150 events in collaboration with community partners, brands, and small businesses, and has accumulated seven festival editions. The organization reports that it receives more than 10,000 attendees per year spread across an average of 30 unique event collaborations.

Audience profile

The festival targets three main groups: sneaker enthusiasts —athletes and collectors interested in the craftsmanship, history, and cultural significance of footwear—; emerging professionals, such as students and influencers seeking training and contacts in the sector; and industry professionals, employees and executives from footwear brands who come to discover new perspectives and talent.

Stated goals and 2027 edition

The organization states its intention to build a connected system between public and private institutions that sustains an economically viable path for the next generation of footwear professionals and businesses. Among its founding principles are building community among creatives and providing new professionals access to Portland's footwear industry.

Looking ahead to 2027, the festival plans new dates and the opening of applications for vendors, artists, designers, and food providers, as well as participation pathways for sponsors, brands, and volunteers.
