About Wrigley Mansion

Wrigley Mansion, a historic landmark for dining and events in Phoenix

Wrigley Mansion is a historic estate situated on a private hill in the Biltmore neighborhood of Phoenix, Arizona. Built in 1931 by chewing gum magnate William Wrigley Jr. as a 50th anniversary gift for his wife Ada, the property passed through several hands until, in 1992, musician and philanthropist Geordie Hormel and his wife Jamie acquired it to prevent its demolition and undertook its restoration. After Geordie's death in 2006, Jamie Hormel continued to lead the estate and completed a year-long renovation in 2021.

The building retains original tiles sent from the factory the Wrigley family owned on Catalina Island and carried up the hill by donkey. Its architecture combines elements of Spanish, California Monterey, and Mediterranean styles. From its location, the estate commands panoramic views of saguaro-covered mountains and the city skyline.

Dining spaces

The mansion houses three distinct dining spaces:

  • Geordie's Restaurant and Lounge: seasonal cuisine in an elegant, timeless setting.
  • Jamie's Wine Bar: shareable small plates and a rotating list of wines by the glass.
  • Christopher's at Wrigley Mansion: a futuristic design space with a retractable roof and panoramic windows, offering modern tasting menus by Christopher Gross, recognized by the James Beard Foundation as Best Chef.

Private and corporate events

The estate is available as a venue for private and corporate events, weddings, private dinners, and personal milestone celebrations. It features six private dining options and a ballroom, plus a versatile floor plan that combines classic 1930s elegance with modern services. The mansion's team of event specialists handles the organization of celebrations that can be either traditional or unique. Photo shoots and marriage proposals are also offered.

Cultural programming and experiences

The mansion hosts a regular schedule of events. The Hormel Jazz Series takes place on Thursday nights. Among the events announced at the time of analysis were:

  • Heart & Soul: An Evening of Jazz (September 25), a benefit evening in support of the American Heart Association with craft cocktails and live jazz by Nicole Pesce.
  • Meet Vietti: An Insider's Guide to Piemonte (October 7), a masterclass with Urs Vetter, commercial director of Vietti, on the vineyards, native grapes, terroirs, and traditions of Piedmont, with a tasting of Vietti wines.
  • Beyond The Vine: An Evening with Mark Pisoni (October 14), a multi-course dinner with Pisoni wines and coffee and honey produced by the Pisoni family in Santa Lucia Highlands.

The estate also offers guided tours and has gift cards available.
