About Arizona Community Foundation Emergency Grant
The Arizona Community Foundation Emergency Grant is intended to keep a sudden financial problem from interrupting a student’s enrollment. The current application offers up to $1,000 per request, capped at the documented cost. Eligible emergencies include rent or utilities, medical or dental costs, childcare, transportation or car repairs, groceries, and travel. Tuition, fees, books, and required course materials are excluded, so this is not a scholarship for paying the college bill directly.
The application is open through December 15, 2026, at 3 p.m. Central Time, subject to available funds. Undergraduate students enrolled full- or part-time within the foundation’s service area may apply if they can upload a course schedule. The emergency expense must have been incurred within 30 days before applying and must be documented.
The foundation and Scholarship America say initial contact or approval is generally made within one business day, and an approved payment may be processed within two business days once documentation is complete; surge periods can take longer. Grocery requests are capped at $500 and require follow-up receipts. Prepare enrollment proof, a dated invoice or receipt, and a clear explanation of how the emergency threatens continued study. Awards depend on demonstrated need, eligibility, and available funds; approval is not guaranteed.
